The Challenge: Beyond Surface Damage

When this Ford Ranger arrived at our Tetney workshop, it had sustained significant impact damage. Unlike a standard “fender bender,” this project presented a complex combination of structural and aesthetic issues:

• Roof & Pillar Damage: The roof was severely buckled, and the A-pillar alignment was compromised — critical areas for the vehicle’s structural integrity.
• Front-End Impact: The bonnet was crumpled, the grille destroyed, and the nearside headlight assembly was shattered.
• Exposed Components: With the front end stripped, the engine bay required a thorough inspection to ensure no mechanical or cooling components were affected by the impact.

Our Expert Restoration Process

1. Precision Strip-Down & Assessment

We began by removing the damaged bonnet, grille, and headlights to expose the underlying chassis. Given the roof damage, our first priority was ensuring the frame was square and safe.

2. Structural & Roof Repair

Repairing a roof requires more than just “popping out a dent.” Our team used precision techniques to restore the roof’s original profile and ensure the windshield aperture was perfectly aligned. This is vital for a leak-free seal and the safety of the occupants.

3. Seamless Part Integration & Colour Matching

We sourced high-quality replacement panels, including a new bonnet and the signature Ford honeycomb grille. Using our computerised colour-matching system, we mixed a perfect batch of Ford’s Frozen White to ensure the new panels blended invisibly with the original doors and wings.

4. The Final “Showroom” Finish

Once the structural work and painting were complete, we reassembled the front end with a new headlight unit and trim. The vehicle then underwent a full professional polish to ensure the gloss levels matched across the entire body.
